		<description>Ouch! First of all, I&#039;m saddened to hear that words that have real meaning to me, like &quot;transparency&quot; and &quot;listening&quot; are now buzzwords. When did they lose their meaning? Is it just me that finds them useful and meaningful?

As for the second paragraph, for some businesses, I suspect if I went in talking about leveraging connections for ROI, I&#039;d get the contract at twice my usual rate.</description>

		<description>It is very tempting to use buzzwords - sometimes I think we are trying to look as though we are &quot;with it&quot; and up with the latest trends (Social Media being a great example) but also I think it can be more comfortable to us. You are spot on though - jargon confuses and a confused mind usually goes away. So even if you are talking to an ideal prospect they may not understand what you do so the conversation goes nowhere.

Describing what I do is along the lines of: &quot;I help small business owners and independent professionals who love what they do but are frustrated that they struggle to attract clients consistently&quot;. I also mention the company name so they are aware marketing is involved.

However there is a lot of coaching involved and I used to use loads of buzzwords about &quot;goal setting, limiting beliefs, being intentional, values based planning, interactive relationship between mutually agreeing parties to achieve commonly devised targets&quot;

Urghh. Made sense to me but there were loads of blank faces and comments like: &quot;oh.....interesting&quot; which means anything but interesting or course! It&#039;s important to recognize what prospective clients are dealing with and phrasing your service offering in those terms.
