April 28, 2008
In our SOBCon08 Spotlight series, we’re shining our lights on a few first-time SOBCon goers to help you get to know some of the great people you’ll meet at SOBCon08.
This time, our spotlight shines on:
- Julien Smith at in over your head - Julien is an experienced podcaster, regularly broadcasting his views on music and society from Montréal. He has worked as a podcasting consultant to companies and individuals. His work has appeared in several major Canadian publications. Need a great podcast expert? Meet Julien.
- Kristen King at Kristen King Freelancing - Kristen is a freelance writer who has written an award-winning blog for writers and a popular women’s health blog. She’s also a speaker who has addressed various communications organizations in the Washington, D.C., area. She’s got publishing and the English language down pat.
- Ria Sharon at Check My Tag - Ria started Check My Tag after her teenage son had an anaphylactic reaction. It’s a simple way to let people know about the food allergies that millions of children have. We think it’s genius.

SOBCon Spotlight: George Krueger, Mary-Lynn Foster, Joanna Young, Jon
April 28, 2008
In our SOBCon08 Spotlight series, we’re helping you meet some of this year’s first-time attendees. This time, our spotlight shines on:
- George Krueger and Mary-Lynn Foster at Bigg Success - George and Mary-Lynn do a 5-minute podcast every weekday (audio show plus written notes) on how to succeed personally and professionally. We love their Bigg Quotes and Bigg Fun pages. This dynamic duo also distributes a free weekly newsletter (comes with a free goal-setting workbook). Since we’re doing these Spotlight features in bunches of three, we’ll count them as one Bigg superpowerful person!
- Joanna Young at Confident Writing - Joanna is skipping across the pond from Scotland to visit us this year in Chicago. She teaches people how to write confidently and powerfully, particularly for business purposes. Check out her monthly podcast on writing tips. If you write (and I have a sneaking suspicion that you do), Joanna can be your personal Confident Writing Coach. (Note: I originally said Joanna lived in England. My apologies for the error!)
- Jon at spatially relevant - Jon blogs about the impact of technology and social media on marketing efforts. Plus music and random stuff, which we happen to enjoy thoroughly.
George, Mary-Lynn, Joanna, Jon: Can’t wait to see you. It’ll be sweet.
The Successful and Outstanding Bloggers Conference (SOBCon08), or Biz School for Bloggers, will take place May 2-4, 2008 in Chicago. Register this very moment.
